Ikies Traditional Houses have been created in harmony with this environment, where guests can marvel at spectacular views over the crater and the village of Oia. The ten houses mirror the homes carved out of pumice with four apartment suites, three maisonettes and three studios, with quaint names such as House of the Boatman, Antiquarian or Winemaker.
TRADITIONAL SIMPLICITY
Bathed in light, the rooms are furnished in traditional Cyclades simplicity with a fully equipped kitchen, air-conditioning, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, hairdryer and safe box. Ikies has private terraces, perfect for al fresco dining, surrounded by a miniature 'garden' in terracotta pots. Seven of the eleven rooms have a hot tub on their terrace and three of them have a hammam and jacuzzi bathtub in the bathroom area. The small private swimming pool is for all guests to use.
LOCAL DINING
Santorini is crammed with areas of historic interest like the important archaeological site of Akrotiri. There are superb views from the town of Fira, built 396 metres above sea level on the crater's edge of Mesa Vouno. Here local island cuisine can be enjoyed in restaurants that seem to hover in space.
