Set on a cliff overlooking the Bay of Funchal and the Atlantic, is Reid's Palace Hotel. Founded in 1891 by Scotsman William Reid, it has retained classical charm and courtesy yet providing a relaxed ambience. For over one hundred years, the hotel has been a standard-bearer for excellence on Madeira and beyond.
CHOICE OF DINING OPTIONS
Breakfast, lunch and tea are all beautifully prepared and there is an aptly-named Cocktail Bar. A choice of restaurants for dinner includes French cuisine at Restaurant Les Faunes (seasonal), al fresco Mediterranean dining at Brisa do Mar (seasonal), Italian selections at Ristorante Villa Cipriani and, for pure elegance, Edwardian grandeur at The Dining Room.
WONDERFUL FACILITIES
If you do not want to stray far, the hotel offers a wide range of facilities including its own library, bridge room, tennis courts, two seawater swimming pools (one at sea level), one freshwater pool and a children's pool. Further afield, you can visit local markets, wine lodges or walk the levada trails to enjoy the flora and spectcular scenery.
SOOTHING TREATMENTS
Set in the perfume filled gardens, the new spa is dedicated to the rejuvenation of mind, body and soul. Soothing and healing treatments are available in the four individual treatment rooms or the couples suite with itw own private terrace and plunge pool. For complete well-being, the spa also houses a sauna, steam room and state-of-the-art fitness centre.
